Nicola Dufficy

Nicola Dufficy is a book-loving, animal-hugging, freelance professional who uses her creative and organizational superpowers to help nonprofit organizations achieve the highest possible standards. Throughout her career as a senior project, marketing and events leader, Nicola has garnered a strong reputation as an innovator, an excellent communicator, a razor-sharp organizer, and someone with a great deal of professional and personal integrity.
Nicola has extensive knowledge of all aspects of the Canadian book industry, having worked with a variety of industry clients across the country over the past 16 years.
Nicola currently contracts to the Canadian Independent Booksellers Association (CIBA) as their Professional Development and Education Lead. Employers and clients have included BookNet Canada, the Eden Mills Writers’ Festival (Artistic Director), INSPIRE! Toronto International Book Fair (Director of Programming and Operations), Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association (Marketing and Events Manager), St Michael’s Hospital Head Injury Clinic (Event Manager – Out of the Rough Golf Tournament), Telling Tales Festival (Consultant), The Word On the Street Toronto (Festival Director) and more.
Melissa McGrath

Melissa McGrath is an experienced arts administrator committed to increasing the capacity of artists and arts organizations. She’s worked in the cultural sector for 17 years in a variety of roles; developing and implementing community-based arts initiatives, managing large-scale cultural events, building relationships with partners and stakeholders, and overseeing large teams.
Melissa was the Festival Manager of the Eden Mills Writers’ Festival from 2018-2023. Prior to the EMWF, she worked at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, The Living Arts Centre, The Luminato Festival, and Lakeshore Arts Community Arts Council in varied roles, including administration, project management, education, and facilitation. She has a strong understanding of how arts organizations operate, including governance, budgeting, strategic planning, and programming.
Melissa is a voracious reader with a towering TBR pile, a passionate supporter of the arts, and has multiple creative projects on the go at any given time. Melissa has an MFA in visual arts from the University of Victoria and a Certificate of Distinction from the Humber School for Writers. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Brantford Symphony Orchestra.
